The Elder Scrolls: Arena - The Beginning

I, Jernah Nerson, started a recent journey. A journey to complete the Elder Scrolls. This blog will document my progress as I advance through the games. Starting with

The Elder Scrolls: Arena!
A brief introduction, but what a wonderful journey it'll be. So, to start off I guess I'll just jump right in.

Beginning Dungeon:
I made a Dark Elf Ranger character, named Harikien. A dead woman preached her story to me about how I needed eight pieces of this chaos staff in separate dungeons. The first place I should go to was Fang Lair, but she had no idea where that was. I woke up in a dungeon, and had to deal with it myself. I spent about an hour here until realizing how easy it was, and how many of the goblins and rats you could actually avoid. The shift gate asked a question about spells, that I just looked up on the internet, and then I was free! Kinda.

Where to next?:
I arrived in a town in Morrowind, that I didn't bother looking into at all. Remembering what my dead friend told me, I went to Hammerfell. I asked local prostitutes, blacksmiths, innkeepers, and townsfolk until a juggler told me to go to Rihad, a kingdom within Hammerfell. I travelled there and many told me to talk to the queen, so I did just that. I don't quite remember her name, but she was dumb. She basically said that she didn't know where this cave I was looking for was, but knew of a piece of parchment that held the answer. I thought that was stupid, but reluctantly agreed.

Stonekeep:
I travelled to this cave, called Stonekeep, and entered eager to explore. I heard many creatures so close, but so far, howling and making noise. I travelled forward and back, but had no idea where to go. So here goes my chance at explaining the situation.

You enter the place, and it's basically a long corridor with many doors on either side as you go down, and one single door at the end. The first two doors and your right and left are short and fat hallways with six more doors in either. The other doors, in the corridor, are just small bedrooms, while the door at the end went into a large, open room.

I hope that makes sense. So, with this knowledge, I decided to search the first door on the right after first entering Stonekeep. I searched every room. They were mostly empty, bookshelves and a bed, but one room had a deep, guttural roar bellowing from it. So I opened it. And then I saw this.

A giant freakin' Minotaur, just hangin' out in this bedroom. So I shut the door and backed up, drawing my longsword. I waited, for what like the longest time. Until the door just swung open, the Minotaur screaming in rage. I held in right-click and yelled my battlecry as I shook the mouse, left to right, right to left, so furiously. It died before I did, but indeed left its mark. Upon searching his corpse, I found twelve gold. Twelve. I decided to search the rest of the rooms with an eighth of my health left. Each one empty, but the last room on the right had a wall with a hole in it. So I shut the door and slept. After about four different encounters with rats whilst trying to sleep, I finally regained my strength. To now figure out how to get through this hole, I commence pushing all the keys on the keyboard. I did this for twenty minutes, and then gave up. I looked up the controls on the internet, learning that Shift + J was to jump. So I did just that!

After jumping into this hole, I ran forward frantic to see the parchment. I instead hit a body of water, and six skeletons paraded towards me at the same time. At this moment, I was probably level three or four, fighting SIX skeletons. I nearly died as I ran far away from them. I repeated this process until I was level six and had killed all the skeletons. This large open room was filled with water, and the platform I was on curled into the corner and then rounded off into a bridge into another island. I ventured forth, and then I could see the large island in the middle. The calls of the damned echoed from that island, so I saved.

Climbing onto the island, I peered out to see what demons would attack. I saw none, but one green figure, staring at me. Just standing there, watching me. Or so I thought until realizing he was stuck on the corner of a wall.

It was at this point that it freed itself, racing towards me. Moaning, it beat me into submission, but not fast enough (Because that totally made sense). I finished him, and with the victory, I raised a level. Little known fact, this was the ISLAND OF EVERY GOD DAMN GHOUL. So about six of them later, I found the parchment at the center of the island, along with a bunch of treasure. This reward contained a Wakizashi and a Dai-Katana. I took both, but ultimately used the Dai-Katana. It destroyed everything, infinitely, forever, dead. After leaving the island, I booked it out of there with my loot. I was unstoppable. Indestructable. I was..

LEVEL EIGHT.

To be continued.
